Sweeny's Unknown Soldier

There are several small towns in Texas that have an Unknown Soldier buried in their cemetery, so Sweeny is not unique in that respect.  The Rotary Club of Sweeny has taken this soldier and adopted him as a member of our community.  In doing so we have done a large amount of research in an effort to unravel the mystery of who he was, where he came from and how he ended up in Sweeny.  Every story and every possible scenario has its merits as well as its possible factionary tales.

Whatever the truth may be, the fact remains that he (whoever he was) is a part of Sweeny's History and a very big part of the Rotary Club of Sweeny.
